PROPERTIES AND BENEFITS Derived from Eugenia Caryophyllata, a plant of the Myrtaceae family, Clove essential oil is known for its many properties and is an antiseptic, antiviral, analgesic and antispasmodic remedy. • Antiseptic: used in aromatherapy to purify the air. • Antiviral: effective against the herpes simplex virus. • Analgesic: used to relieve toothache due to tooth decay; an effective localised anaesthetic when diluted and applied on a soaked cotton wool ball. • Smooth muscle relaxant: recommended for abdominal pain (meteorism, intestinal cramps) and muscle spasms.
